Above Ground Pool Inspection in Bath, PA

Landscaping inspection Services inspected an above-ground pool in Bath, PA that was damaged by wind.

Bath, PA Landscaping Damaged by Wind

Landscaping Inspection Services was called out to a Bath, PA home to inspect an above ground landscaping that had sustained damage over the winter. Our inspector visited the property in question and spoke with the insured, who stated that he thought wind had caused the damage.

Landscaping Inspection Observations

Our inspector performed a thorough inspection of the pool and surrounding areas and made the following observations:

  • The above ground pool measured 24 feet around and 52 inches high.
  • The top rail was damaged.
  • The walls were buckled.
  • The structure of the pool was compromised.

Analysis of Landscaping Inspection in Bath, PA

After thoroughly inspection the above ground pool, our inspector determined that at this point, the pool is potentially dangerous. He noted that the pool cover had lifted and caused damage to the uprights, wall and top rails.

The pool wall is structurally unsafe and the pool should be drained and removed as soon as possible to prevent further damage. Our inspector noted that unfortunately, there is no way to repair the pool. Total replacement is recommended.

Cause of Loss in Bath, PA Pool Inspection

It was the opinion of our inspector that wind caused the pool cover to lift, which caused structural damage to the uprights, wall and top rails, which is exactly what the insured had asserted had happened.

Estimate for Repairs

At this point, the entire pool would need to be replaced; replacing the pool would include tearing out and disposing of the old pool, preparing the land for the new pool, the cost of the new pool, installation of the new pool, and the cost of water. Our inspector estimated that total replacement of the pool would cost well over $5,000.
